Do you know the ,,little vineyard by the sea? This is what the Moors called the village Banyalbufar, a very idyllic little village on the north-western coast of the island. This authentic Mallorcan mountain village is somewhat removed from the tourist haunts and boasts terraced gardens against the steep slopes, as well as numerous little walls made from natural stone. Arabic immigrants from Andalusia founded the village in the 10th century and established the beautiful , hanging gardens which are still being watered with a clever method of water basins and canal systems. The view is splendid: the green terraced gardens, blooming fruit trees, grazing sheep, idyllic stone houses and the blue ocean as far as the eye can see.
